The Imo State government has disclosed how fire disaster was averted by the newly-revived state Fire Service in Owerri.
According to the government, a 30,000-litre tanker carrying Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) on Tuesday afternoon collided with a moving vehicle along Port-Harcourt Road, Owerri.
It was gathered that the Petrol Tanker was on its way to a delivery at Ebere Links Filling Station when the incident occurred.
The fuel laden tanker was said to have spilled its content on the road during the incident.
However, the timely intervention of the newly-revived Imo State Fire Service averted the disaster.
The incident was made known by the state government through its Twitter handle, @GovernmentImo
