Human Rights activists, and convener of #RevolutionNow protest, Mr Omoyele Sowore and his co-defendant, Mr Olawale Bakare has being granted bail by the Federal High Court sitting in Abuja.
Sowore and Bakare were arraigned for alleged treasonable felony and cyberstalking Nigeria’s president, among other offences.
According to Channels TV, Justice Ijeoma Ojukwu who ruled on the bail application filed by the defendants, gave the order on Friday.
This follows after listening to the submissions of the lawyer representing the defendants, Mr Femi Falana and the prosecutor, Mr Hassan Liman.
Justice Ojukwu granted bail of N150 million to the defendants.
She said; “Since the charge before the court does not carry any death penalty, I am inclined to grant bail.”
