UNILAG Suspends Another Lecturer For Sexual Harrassment

Written by Rita Nwachukwu

Another lecturer from the University of Lagos, UNILAG has been implicated in the sex-for-grades scandal.

The lecturer identified as Samuel Oladipo was seen in the second stream of the sex-for grades documentary released by BBC Africa Eye.

It was gathered that the University has suspended the lecturer following the issue of sexual harassment rocking the institution.

This follows after a lecturer and former sub-dean of the faculty of arts, Dr Boniface Igbeneghu was suspended over the same documentary on sexual assault released on Monday.

Reacting to the incident, the Vice-Chancellor of UNILAG, Oluwatoyin Ogundipe said the lecturer would be made to face the panel.

He added, “The entire episode is unfortunate and tragic because lecturers are supposed to be loco parents to the students. My appeal to our colleagues is to refrain from a negative act that can tarnish the image of the university and themselves.”
