The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC has declared Yahaya Bello as winner of the gubernatorial election in the state.
This was declared by the returning officer, Vice- Chancellor of Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, Professor Ibrahim Umar, on Monday.
Bello polled a total of 406,222 votes, while the Peoples Democratic Party candidate, Mr Musa Wada had 189,404 votes, and the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Natasha Akpoti, garnered a total of 9,482 votes.
Professor Umar said out of 19 LGAs, Bello won 10 LGAs, Wada polled 9 LGAs while Natasha is yet to win any.
The winner was declared following the collation of results from all 21 Local Government Areas (LGAs) of the state, it was an exercise which lasted more than 24 hours.
