A concerning theft incident took place at the Clothing Junction in Sunnypark Mall, Pretoria, where a victim reported that her handbag was stolen. According to the victim’s account, she left her handbag unattended in the fitting room around 14:48 on the previous day. During this brief moment, two females allegedly took her handbag which contained her personal belongings.
The victim quickly noticed the bag was missing and later discovered that her bank card was used without authorization. The thieves made purchases at nearby establishments, including Watloo Meat and a local liquor store. This resulted in a total loss of R2000 for the victim.
The victim has taken steps to protect herself by notifying her bank immediately to block her card. Furthermore, she has reported the incident to the South African Police Service (SAPS) in hopes of identifying the suspects. To aid in the search, she is circulating a video that allegedly shows the suspects involved in the crime.
This incident highlights significant concerns regarding safety and security in public places, particularly in shopping malls.
