Marius van der Merwe Alleged K!ller Revealed to be an Ex Saps Officer
Sources say the arrested suspect is a former police officer. He was apparently know to Marius v d Merwe.
The suspect is involved in the security industry. More arrests are expected.
The arrest in the murder of Marius van der Merwe (Witness D) is a welcome breakthrough. Well done to the police and the task team.
However, it is critical that the investigation does not stop with the alleged shooter.
The mastermind/s behind this killing must also be identified, arrested and brought before the courts urgently.
Those who plan, fund and order such crimes must face the full might of the law.
South Africans need to see that everyone involved in this murder is held accountable.
The arrests will hopefully also shed more light on the motive for the hit.
v d Merwe was shot dead outside his Brakpan home on
Dec 5 last – in front of his family.
Weeks earlier, he blew the whistle at the Madlanga Commission about a 2023 murder of a suspect.
Authorities still have to arrest all those implicated. The docket is with the
