A driver accused of causing a crash that claimed the lives of 14 school children will return to the Vanderbijlpark Magistrates Court on Wednesday for a formal bail application.Ayanda Dludla faces 14 counts of murder, three of attempted murder and one for driving without a permit.

Dluldla collided head-on with a truck while he was transporting the children to school in January.

In his previous appearance at the Vanderbijlpark Magistrates Court, Dldudla abandoned his bail application.

His lawyer, Reward Nxumalo, told the media that Dludla was remorseful about his actions and that he was struggling to come to terms with the accident.

Nxumalo said Dludla needed psychological intervention because he was finding it hard to cope in prison.

Dludla has now changed his mind about bail and will make a court appearance for the hearing of his application.
