Julius Is Very Dangerous & Greedy, Floyd Shivambu Reveals in new Video
The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) has articulated a clear strategy centered on enhancing state capacity with the aim of abolishing the tender system in South Africa. This initiative is viewed as a fundamental pillar of the party’s political philosophy, which seeks to reshape economic and governance structures within the country.
Floyd Shivambu, a former senior EFF leader, recently commented on this strategy by linking it to the need for safeguarding the party from potential negative influences. He specifically referenced Julius Malema, the party’s leader, suggesting that Malema’s past behavior and reputation, particularly during his tenure in the ANC Youth League (ANCYL), pose a risk to the party’s goals. Shivambu pointed out that the effort to enhance state capacity was also a measure to protect the EFF from what he termed Malema’s “dangerous mannerisms and greed.”
This discussion comes amid ongoing debates in South Africa regarding governance, accountability, and economic efficiency. The EFF’s stance challenges the traditional tender system, which has often been criticized for fostering corruption and inefficiency in public projects. By building state capacity, the EFF aims to streamline government processes and reduce dependency on external contracts, thereby promoting a more transparent and responsible use of public funds.
As the political landscape evolves, the EFF’s policies on state capacity and the abolition of tenders will likely remain a focal point of their campaign leading up to future elections. The party’s approach not only reflects its commitment to economic reforms but also raises questions about leadership dynamics within its ranks. How this strategy will play out in practice, particularly concerning internal party governance and public perception, remains to be seen.
