6 Children Rescued from Drug Den

Dereleen James, together with South African Police Service officers, rescued six young children from a drug den in Cape Town on Tuesday night.

The children were found living in horrific conditions — exposed to people smoking tik, with no food, no beds, no clean clothing, no birth certificates and no proper care.
The operation followed community tip-offs as part of ongoing efforts to fight drug-related harm across the Cape Flats.

“Our communities are being destroyed by drugs, but tonight we begin cleaning up,” said James.
