WEATHER: Heavy Thunderstorms Set to hit these provinces as new details

Johannesburg will see unsettled conditions on Wednesday, with thunderstorms expected in parts of the city in the afternoon, according to AccuWeather.

Temperatures will reach 23°C, with cloudy skies and a high cloud cover of 97%. There is a 55% chance of rain, with around 6.4 mm expected, while thunderstorms are possible. Winds will blow from the NNW at 11 km/h, with gusts up to 32 km/h.

Conditions will begin clearing overnight, with temperatures dropping to 12°C. Winds will shift to SSE at 7 km/h, with gusts reaching 20 km/h. The chance of rain stands at 25%, with a slight 6% risk of thunderstorms and cloud cover at 66%.

Pretoria will also experience unstable conditions, with a risk of thunderstorms in the afternoon.

Daytime temperatures will climb to 25°C, with cloudy skies and cloud cover at 92%.

There is a 59% chance of rain, with around 4.0 mm expected, while thunderstorms are possible. Winds will be light, blowing NNW at 11 km/h, with gusts up to 28 km/h.

Overnight, conditions will clear, with temperatures dropping to 14°C. Winds will shift to SSW at 9 km/h, with gusts reaching 22 km/h. The chance of rain is 25%, with a slight 6% chance of thunderstorms and cloud cover at 53%.

Cape Town will see calmer and drier conditions throughout Wednesday.

Temperatures will peak at 21°C under partly sunny skies. The UV index is moderate at 5, with very bright conditions expected. Winds will blow SSW at 13 km/h, with gusts reaching 26 km/h. No rain is expected.

Clear skies are expected overnight, with temperatures dipping to 12°C. Winds will be southerly at 13 km/h, with gusts up to 22 km/h.
