Another senior Ekurhuleni official Arrested at Tambo International Airport

Police are not ruling out more arrests after detaining another senior Ekurhuleni Metro official.

The 40-year-old was arrested at OR Tambo International Airport earlier.

The arrest follows that of suspended EMPD Deputy Chief Julius Mkhwanazi.

National Police Spokesperson Brigadier Athlenda Mathe has confirmed the arrest.

“I can confirm that another senior municipal official attached to the city of Ekurhuleni was arrested this morning at the OR Tambo airport.

“The 40-year-old faces the same charges as that of  the 50-year-old that was arrested at his home in Johannesburg. We cannot rule out the possibility of a further arrest in this case, but for now we do have two suspects in custody and they will be appearing before court tomorrow morning.
