Umlazi pupils attacked while selling sweets, one dead

DURBAN – A 19-year-old boy has been stabbed to death, while two others were injured along Maponya Road in Umlazi.

The three pupils from Menzi High School were approached by a group of men while selling sweets.

The suspects allegedly demanded a protection fee, sparking a confrontation.

The situation escalated into violence, leaving one dead and two with stab wounds.

Umlazi police have opened a case of murder and two counts of attempted murder.

A manhunt for the suspects is underway.
