Gauteng police have arrested eight suspects following a business robbery in Bedfordview on Sunday, 26 April 2026 -with two serving South African Police Service officers among those taken into custody.
The arrests were made during a coordinated operation by the Gauteng Tactical Response Team (TRT), assisted by Gauteng Traffic Police and private security.
The two police officers are reportedly stationed at Florida police station.
According to authorities, all eight suspects will face charges of business robbery and possession of stolen property.
They are expected to appear in court soon as investigations continue.
Gauteng SAPS management has strongly condemned the alleged involvement of police members in criminal activity, warning that such conduct seriously undermines the integrity of the organisation and damages already fragile public confidence in law enforcement.
The case is likely to raise fresh concerns around corruption and criminal infiltration within policing structures, particularly as police continue efforts to combat trio crimes and organised robberies across the province.
