According to the white guy: I understand that posting a police officer without their permission may not be appropriate, but I’d like to share my experience, I ended up at the police station today after someone drove straight into my car. What started as a normal day quickly turned into one of those moments you don’t plan for.

While I was sitting there at Humewood Police Station, trying to process everything, another moment happened right in front of me that I won’t forget.

There was an elderly woman in the queue properly old, the kind you can see shouldn’t be standing for long. You could tell she was struggling, barely managing to stay on her feet. A young man standing behind her noticed and immediately spoke up, saying she should be assisted first. It was simple, just basic humanity.

But then a guy ahead of her shut it down instantly. He wasn’t trying to hear it at all, flat out refused, saying nothing like that was going to happen in front of him. It got tense for a moment

And then this female police officer stepped in.
She didn’t argue. She just walked straight up to the old lady, gently took her out of the line, and led her to a seat in the visitors’ area. Then she did something that really stood out she brought her own chair and sat right next to her.

She helped her through everything… filling in forms, explaining things slowly, making sure she understood. You could see the relief on that old lady’s face. What could’ve been a long, exhausting experience for her turned into something calm

Then came my turn to be assisted. The same policewoman handled my case… yo, she was something else. Calm, respectful, and very clear. She didn’t rush me, didn’t make me feel like I was wasting time. She explained everything properly what happened, why I needed to be there, what steps would follow like she actually cared that I understood. She made what felt like a big, stressful situation seem manageable.

Honestly, I walked in there frustrated, but I walked out feeling lighter. Today showed me that even in unexpected places, God shows up… and there are still people who do their jobs with heart. ❤️
