Brazen Business Robbery leaves 2 security officers shot in
KZN VIP can confirm that a business robbery occurred at a local mall in the Umhlanga area on Sunday afternoon.
It is alleged that multiple suspects, armed with high-calibre firearms, were seen exiting the mall when a confrontation ensued between the suspects and on-site security personnel. During the incident, two security officers sustained gunshot wounds.
KZN VIP Medics and Multiple Security Stakeholders responded swiftly to the scene, where one injured security officer was treated before being rapidly transported to a nearby medical facility for urgent medical care. The second injured officer was privately transported to hospital for further treatment.
The suspects fled the scene in two vehicles. At this stage, the make and model of the vehicles have not yet been confirmed.
The South African Police Service (SAPS) and other relevant authorities are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
