Breaking: Popular KZN Community Leader K!lled in a Crash
KZN VIP Emergency Medical Services responded to a fatal pedestrian collision on Old Ottawa Main Road near the Woodview Park area on Friday evening. Following multiple reports received by the KZN VIP Control Centre, emergency teams were immediately dispatched to the scene.
Upon arrival, paramedics found an adult male lying on the roadway with severe injuries. A thorough medical assessment was conducted; however, the patient showed no signs of life and was sadly declared deceased on scene.
According to some witness, the man is very popular around that area and known to be a leader in his own way.
Preliminary information suggests that the vehicle involved in the collision failed to stop, resulting in a suspected hit and run incident. The area was noted to be poorly lit, posing additional risks to both motorists and emergency responders.
A government mortuary service was activated, and the deceased was removed from the scene shortly thereafter. All emergency services were in attendance. The circumstances surrounding the incident remain under investigation by the South African Police Service.
