Female Saps officer allegedly shot and killed at Boxer Store

A female police officer was allegedly shot and killed at Boxer Store in Moletsane, Soweto. The suspect is shown in the image.

What happened: A group of armed suspects (reports vary between 6 and approximately 10–11) entered the store. They demanded cash from the tills and then moved to the cash office, stealing an estimated R250,000

As the robbers fled the store, they encountered a marked police vehicle outside containing four police reservists from Naledi SAPS who were on routine patrol.

The suspects opened fire on the police vehicle. One male constable was shot in the left leg (injured; taken for medical treatment).

A female reservist/constable was fatally shot in the head. She was declared dead on arrival.
