Housebreaking thief meets instant Karma in Kwazulu Natal
A wanted housebreaking and home invasion suspect was apprehended by members of KZN VIP following a lengthy foot chase along Golf Course Drive in the Mount Edgecombe area.
KZN VIP Reaction Units were alerted after a client contacted the control centre requesting urgent assistance for a suspect who had allegedly invaded her neighbour’s home on Ridgeway Lane, Mount Edgecombe.
Upon arrival, KZN VIP officers were directed towards the suspect who was seen fleeing from the property. A foot pursuit immediately ensued as the suspect attempted to evade arrest. After approximately 15 minutes, and with additional KZN VIP units responding to the area, the suspect was successfully apprehended.
During the arrest, the suspect was found in possession of items stolen from the property. During the course of the apprehension, one KZN VIP Reaction Officer sustained injuries. The officer was treated and thereafter transported to a medical facility for further medical attention.
Members of the South African Police Service (SAPS) were notified and responded to the scene, where the suspect was handed over for further processing and investigation.
