Just in: Durban Hijacking Victim Rescued After Being Stabbed And
Just after 09h15 this morning, Marshall Security’s Emergency Dispatch Centre received reports of a stabbing incident on the N2 freeway near the Sibaya and Umdloti off-ramps.
Members of Marshall Security’s Special Operations Team were immediately dispatched to the scene.
On arrival, officers found that a member of the public had already stopped to assist the injured male, while members of the South African Police Service (Verulam SAPS) had also just reached the scene. Marshall Security officers began administering first aid without delay, treating multiple stab wounds to the victim’s neck, head, shoulder, and stomach.

Family members were contacted and informed of the situation.
Preliminary information indicates that the victim had been hijacked in the early hours of the morning in the Morningside area by an unknown number of armed suspects. The suspects allegedly forced the victim into his own vehicle, where they demanded money and valuables.
During the attack, the victim was repeatedly stabbed.
The suspects then drove around with the victim before abandoning him near dense bush in the Sibaya area.
The suspects fled with the victim’s belongings as well as his vehicle, described as a grey Kia Rio.
Despite his injuries, the victim managed to walk and seek assistance from passing motorists.
Family members later arrived on scene and transported the victim to a nearby hospital for further medical treatment.
