Female Detective Shot and Killed in Oakford, Verulam

A female police detective based in eThekwini has been shot and killed in Oakford, Verulam, KwaZulu-Natal.
According to reports from her mother, the officer had arrived in a white BMW to deliver groceries. She allegedly carried a few plastic bags into the house and left her vehicle open as she was preparing to fetch more items.
While she was inside the house, two men reportedly ran in and opened fire. She was fatally wounded in the attack. The suspects are said to have fled the scene in a getaway vehicle that arrived shortly after the shooting.
The Reaction Unit South Africa responded to the scene and confirmed the officer’s death.
The tragic incident reportedly occurred in front of her mother, who was inside the house at the time.
