Kwazulu Natal Armed Gang strikes again, Seven victims affected
Seven (7) occupants of a vehicle were robbed at gunpoint before suspects fled with their vehicle in Amaoti – KZN in the early hours of today (Saturday).
Members of Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) were dispatched to the scene at approximately 02:53 following reports of a hijacking. Upon arrival, Reaction Officers interviewed the victims and gathered details regarding the incident.
According to the victims, they had briefly parked their vehicle on the roadside while travelling from a nearby tavern when four (4) suspects approached them on foot. Three (3) of the suspects were armed with handguns while the fourth suspect was armed with a shotgun.
The suspects robbed the seven (7) occupants at gunpoint and stole several items including one (1) iPhone 13, two (2) smartphones and a wallet containing approximately R700 in cash. The suspects then demanded the vehicle keys before fleeing the scene in the victims’ vehicle towards the Inanda – KZN.
The stolen vehicle is described as a dark brown Suzuki Ertiga with registration CS89CWZN. The vehicle was reportedly low on fuel at the time of the hijacking.
No injuries were reported.
