Kwazulu Natl Robbery Group In School Uniform Taken out By Police
A grade ten (10) learner aged eighteen (18) who attends a school in Ndwedwe – KZN was targeted in an attempted armed robbery while walking in the Verulam CBD – KZN today (Wednesday, 18/03/2026).
Members of Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) were called out after the male sought assistance from a passerby. Reaction Officers were dispatched and on arrival, interviewed the victim who stated that he was walking along Todd Street in the Verulam CBD – KZN when he was approached by four (4) males dressed in school uniforms. One (1) of the suspects produced a firearm and attempted to rob him of his cellphone.
The teenager refused to hand over the device and fled to safety. The suspects thereafter escaped on Wick Street in the Central Business District (CBD). Reaction Officers conducted an extensive search of the area, however no arrests were made.
No injuries were reported.
