Lekota to be remembered at two memorial services
BLOEMFONTEIN – Two memorial services will be held in Bloemfontein and Johannesburg this week to honour the late former defence minister and COPE leader Mosiuoa Lekota.
The 77-year-old died in a Johannesburg hospital last Wednesday. He will be laid to rest on Saturday.
President Cyril Ramaphosa declared a special official funeral category 2 for Lekota.

Lekota is remembered as a patriot and freedom fighter whose life has shaped the struggle for democracy and a non-racial South Africa.
He will be honoured for his service as premier, minister of defence, and inaugural chair of the National Council of Provinces.
