New Zealand women demolish Proteas

CHRISTCHURCH – The Proteas Women endured a disappointing tour of New Zealand, finishing their five-match T20 series with a 4–1 defeat.

After choosing to field first in a dead-rubber affair, South Africa could not contain New Zealand Women batters in Christchurch. 

The hosts’ skipper Amelia Kerr smashed 105 runs from 55 balls, including 19 fours and a single 6.

This guided the White Ferns to an overwhelming total of 194/6.

South Africa’s chase faltered early after losing three quick wickets. Sune Luus, Chloe Tryon and Anneke Bosch went out for a combined total of 23 runs.

The tourists could not find their feet at the crease as they limped to a depressing 102/9 and lost by 92 runs.
