Oh no: Vehicle Gutted By Fire on the M27 Mount Moreland in
A vehicle was extensively damaged after catching alight on the M27 near the Mount Moreland entrance – KZN yesterday afternoon (Monday).
Members of Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) were dispatched at approximately 21:53 after receiving a call from a passer-by reporting a vehicle on fire.
On arrival, Reaction Officers made contact with the driver who stated that he was travelling towards Umdloti Beach – KZN when he noticed smoke emanating from the bonnet of his black Mercedes-Benz E350. He pulled over to investigate when the smoke intensified and flames erupted from the engine compartment.
The driver and his disabled passenger safely exited the vehicle prior to the fire spreading. The blaze rapidly intensified and engulfed the entire vehicle. The fire was eventually extinguished.
