JOHANNESBURG – The Democratic Alliance has elected Geordin Hill-Lewis as its new Federal Leader.

Hill-Lewis takes over from John Steenhuisen, who has been at the helm for eight years.

Over 2,000 delegates voted at the Gallagher Convention Centre in Midrand, at what has been dubbed the DA’s biggest Federal Congress to date.

Hill-Lewis, Cape Town Mayor, was up against Sibusiso Dyonase, the Sedibeng Caucus leader
