SAPS to release latest crime stats

JOHANNESBURG – Acting Police Minister Firoz Cachalia will on Friday release crime stats for the third quarter of 2025/2026.

The figures cover October to December 2025.

Deputy Ministers Cassel Mathale and Polly Boshielo and National Commissioner Fannie Masemola will join him.

Previous stats showed murder cases down slightly, but attempted murder and sexual offences on the rise.

The numbers are released as three provinces hit hardest by gang violence prepare for army deployment.
