Suspected hitman killed in shootout with KZN police

DURBAN – A suspected hitman has been killed in a shootout with police in in Durban.

Police cornered him at a hideout in Pinetown on Wednesday.

He allegedly opened fire on officers during his imminent arrest, but died in the gunfight.

The 41-year-old had been wanted for over 10 murder cases in many parts of the province.

It’s believed the suspect was planning a hit on Umdoni Local Municipality officials.

Guns have been recovered at the scene.
