Watch As SA Man Gets beaten Angry Mob Who thought he was a foreigner

It has now been confirmed that the man who was beaten, chased, and eventually handed over to police during a recent anti-foreigner march in KwaZulu-Natal is in fact a legal South African citizen.

Despite this, he was targeted and accused of being a foreigner simply because of his dark complexion and his inability to speak isiZulu.

According to him, he had joined the march believing he was standing up for his country, only to be attacked by the very people who claimed to be doing the same.

He has since expressed deep pain, saying he hopes his children never have to experience such division and discrimination in their own land.

This incident raises a troubling question: since when did skin tone and language replace an ID book in South Africa?
