Information was received regarding suspects linked to a series of house robberies and Rolex robberies across the Johannesburg area.
Intelligence indicated that the suspects were armed and utilising a Hyundai Accent fitted with false registration plates to follow and target unsuspecting victims, particularly luxury watch owners, before robbing them at their residences.
The suspect vehicle was spotted travelling in Centurion, where it was established that the occupants were following an unsuspecting family with the intention to commit a robbery. The suspects fled at high speed, leading to a pursuit that ended when the vehicle drove into an open veld.
Two (2) suspects were contained and arrested after attempting to flee on foot. Two unlicensed firearms and ammunition were seized. Additional ammunition was also recovered inside the vehicle.
Investigations are ongoing as the suspects and the vehicle are believed to be linked to multiple home invasions and armed robberies in and around Johannesburg.
