This marks the third fire at the school since 2007, following a major 2025 blaze that gutted 11 classrooms and was investigated as arson, disrupting education for hundreds of learners.

Gauteng Education MEC Lebogang Maile confirmed the latest incident as sabotage, with teaching continuing via repairs rather than mobile units while police investigate the cause.
