Yizo Yizo the return baba! Mashaba explains why he wants Joburg again
JOHANNESBURG – ActionSA leader Herman Mashaba has outlined his plans for Johannesburg after he was named the party’s mayoral candidate for the City of Gold in the upcoming Local Government Elections.
He said, “without Johannesburg working, this entire country won’t be able to work.”Â

Mashaba previously served as Johannesburg mayor from 2016 to 2019.Â
Mashaba questioned if Joburg even has a mayor right now, saying the city is crumbling. He said as a return soldier, he is now more prepared than he was for his first stint running the city.
“The first time around, I wend into council completely blank. I had no idea what the mayor does.”
If the Joburg residents will have, he said, he is prepared for the mammoth task ahead.
“This is a brutal job, but it will need brutal people like myself. I am not scared to take hard decisions.”
