Watch As SA Soldiers Runs Out of Bullets fighting Rebels
The chief negotiator for the South African National Defence Union, Jeff Dubazane, has raised serious concerns regarding the conditions faced by South African soldiers deployed in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC). According to Dubazane, soldiers encountered critical shortages of ammunition during clashes with rebel groups, indicating a severe lack of resources on the ground.
Dubazane highlighted that at one point, South African troops were almost out of bullets while engaged in combat, raising alarm about their operational capacity and overall safety. Such shortages not only endanger the lives of soldiers but also compromise the effectiveness of their mission in the region.
In addition to ammunition shortages, Dubazane revealed that soldiers have been forced to buy their own uniforms and boots. This situation illustrates a troubling lack of support from the South African government and military management, as soldiers are expected to perform their duties without the necessary supplies provided by their employer.
The call for improved conditions for troops is echoed by various stakeholders who emphasize the need for better logistical support for soldiers deployed in conflict zones. The situation highlights ongoing issues within military operations that require urgent attention from authorities to ensure the welfare of personnel who serve in dangerous environments.
