Another Sad Day: Female Killed in Durban North Crash

Around 5am on Friday Morning ALS Paramedics responded to a horrific head on collision on the M4 Northern Freeway near Broadway offramp in the Durban North Area.

Paramedics arrived on the scene to find chaos and carnage as the two badly damaged vehicles obstructed the roadway. A quick triage was done whilst the Ethekweni Fire Department and more Ambulances were dispatched to assist. Paramedics found that both vehicles had two occupants each who had all sustained injuries. Two occupants in the light motor vehicle were found severely entrapped in the wreckage with critical injuries.

The passenger a female believed to be in her twenties had sustained multiple injuries and unfortunately there was nothing Paramedics could do for her and she was declared deceased on scene. The driver had sustained critical injuries and once stabilized on the scene was transported to a nearby Hospital for the urgent care that he required.

Two occupants on the second vehicle had also sustained moderate injuries and were also transported to a nearby Hospital for the further care that they required.

The roadway remained blocked for sometime whilst investigations continued.

At this stage the events leading up to the crash is unknown however SAPS were in attendance and will be investigating further.
