Table Mountain cableway up for prestigious award

CAPE TOWN – The Table Mountain aerial cableway is vying for another major accolade, as Africa and Cape Town’s favourite tourist destination.

It has already won the honour five times, demonstrating that it is a true jewel in the crown of South African tourism.

The World Travel Awards honour and celebrate excellence in the travel, tourism, and hospitality industries.

The Table Mountain aerial cableway is famous for its magnificent and spectacular views. Every year, thousands of local and foreign visitors rush to ascend more than 1000 metres above sea level for spectacular views.

The Cableway team believes that being nominated again is just another reason to visit the city. 

Table Mountain aerial cableway’s Collette Van Aswegen said: “It’s a pat in the back for Table mountain indeed, but certainly it’s a pat in the back for Capetonians and South Africans. We know how we feel about our mountain and we’re very passionate about it. And Table Mountain being recognised in this way, provide visitors from outside South Africa another reason to visit.”
