Breaking news: Popular MP & Top Politician Arrested By SAPS in
Police have arrested the leader of the National Coloured Congress, Fadiel Adams.
Officers arrived at Adams’s home in the Parliamentary Village on Tuesday morning after he failed to hand himself over to the police.
The South African Police Service (SAPS) had urged Adams to surrender at his nearest police station in connection with a case of fraud and defeating the ends of justice.
His arrest relates to the murder case of ANC politician Sindiso Magaqa, who was gunned down in 2017.
Adams said he was expecting the arrest and added that he wrote to police about three weeks ago, indicating he was willing to comply but requesting that the Political Killings Task Team (PKTT) not be sent to his home.
Police spokesperson Athlenda Mathe said they expected Adams to do the right thing as a member of Parliament.
