A pedestrian has been killed following a collision on the M41 just before the uMhlanga off ramp on Monday morning.
Emergency services from KZN VIP, together with towing services and other emergency responders, were dispatched to the scene. Upon arrival, it was established that an adult male had been attempting to cross the busy highway when he was struck by a light motor vehicle.
Sadly, the pedestrian sustained fatal injuries and was declared deceased on scene.
The occupants of the vehicle sustained minor injuries and declined transportation to a medical facility.
The South African Police Service (SAPS) attended the scene and will be conducting further investigations.
Traffic was severely affected in the area while emergency services worked to clear the scene.
