Breaking News On Malema’s Sentencing and Jail time
KUGOMPO CITY – The aspect of sentence in Julius Malema’s firearm discharge case is still to be decided.
This is according to Magistrate Twanet Olivier who is presiding over the case in the East London Regional Court.
The matter has now been adjourned to 9am on Thursday. The State wants Malema jailed for 15 years.
Malema appeared in a packed court room on Wednesday where his legal representatives presented heads of argument ahead of his sentencing.
While his legal representative Advocate Tembeka Ngcukaitobi requested Olivier to deliver sentencing on Wednesday afternoon, the magistrate said she was not ready to proceed with sentencing.
“The actual sentence must still be determined. I have heard a whole lot of new information that I have to structure.”
