One Killed, One injured in Overport Shooting.

Just before 01:30 pm on Sunday afternoon, ALS Paramedics responded to a shooting incident on Crescent Street near East St Park in the Overport area.

Paramedics arrived on the scene to find SAPS, Metro Police and Security Personnel already in attendance. Paramedics were shown to a male believed to be in his thirties who had sustained multiple gunshot wounds. Unfortunately there was nothing Paramedics could do for him and he was declared deceased on the scene. It is alleged that a second person who had also sustained gunshot wounds was transported privately to the hospital. The scene was cordoned off to allow SAPS to investigate this incident.

Multiple bullet shells were found on the roadway and a passing motorists vehicle was also damaged in the shoot out.

At this stage the events leading up to the shooting is unknown however SAPS will be investigating further.
