A hijacking incident occurred on Chardale Road in the Newlands West area
A hijacking incident occurred on Chardale Road in the Newlands West area on Wednesday morning. It is alleged that approximately five armed African male suspects travelling in a silver VW Polo sedan hijacked a grey Mahindra vehicle while the victim was leaving for work.
Thankfully, no injuries were reported during the incident, however the victim was left severely traumatised. The suspects fled the scene with the stolen vehicle in the direction of Midway Mall.
Tracker agents, together with private security companies and additional law enforcement stakeholders, are currently conducting investigations and search operations in an attempt to recover the vehicle and apprehend the suspects involved.
Members of the public are urged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious persons or vehicles to their nearest security provider or SAPS immediately.
